President's Bio

Lord I'm available to you, 'We are not our own, We are bought with a price", are words that Ida Martin, Founder and President of the Women for Christ Community Outreach, truly believes and lives.

As God gives visions to his children, it is their responsibility to follow through. Christ suffered, died and rose for our sins. To be used to show someone the way is a vision of Ida Martin's unfolding. Believing there was a real necessity for women to come together and share, was a pressing urge in Ida's heart, which is a result of our retreats. Visiting and taking gifts to the residence of the rest homes monthly and on holidays, and the monthly meetings where the women come together and fellowship, are just a few of the ministries she pursues. The Lord laid it upon her heart to have an Annual Holistic Ministry Day where we service over 500 people.

Ida Martin is a lady who has truly dedicated herself to the Lord. You will see her constantly "about her father's business." 13 years ago the Lord put it on her heart to start a Women's Fellowship; this would include women from all denominations. It would serve as an encouragement and a witnessing forum for women who did not know the Lord Jesus Christ in the pardon of their sins. The Women for Christ Fellowship, has helped many young ladies strengthen their faith and helped them to know the Lord in a very personal way.

Ida has always been actively involved in the work of her church, Greater Victory Church of God in Christ, where she has worshipped for the past 26 years. Demonstrating the training she received under the leadership of her mother, Evangelist Essie Herndon, Ida has served in various positions including: Sunday School Teacher, President of the Purity Class, Y.W.C.C., Usher Board President, District Youth Chairlady, as well as a worker in the Volunteer Mission and the choir.

She is currently the first lady of the Greater Victory Church of God in Christ where her husband, Elder George A. Martin, is the pastor. They are the founders of the couples for Christ and served as co-presidents for 7 years. She serves in the Minister's Wives, is the Supervisor of Women's Ministry, and serves as an executive church secretary. Ida owns her own Business... "Ida's Baskets and Things", and along with her husband owns 6Mar Enterprises.

This only begins to introduce you to Ida. The Lord has performed many miracles in her life, including recently delivering her from thyroid cancer. Her testimony is truly that of, a real life directed by Christ, a woman who loves God, her husband, and their six children: George II, Dalton, Evelyn Nicole, Chrystal, their nephew Dennis, and niece Keilah. She loves people!
